About Us

The KRS Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to commemorate the kind, loving spirit and academic legacy of Khigh Rondel Stephens.

Following the death of Khigh Stephens in 1998, as a passenger in a fatal automobile accident, the Stephens Family, along with the Law Firm of Thomas E. Hood established The Khigh Rondel Stephens Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. in January 2000.

Khigh was an active member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and an honors graduate of the New Brunswick High School class of 1997.  At the time of his death, he was an eminent student at Clark Atlanta University.

To keep his legacy alive, the fund awards a scholarship to students of exemplary character who can show financial need and/or academic ability. In addition, activities in the church and community service are also considered for funding. Since 2002 the foundation has given out scholarships to 72 deserving
college bound students totaling over $61,000.00.

It has been through the generosity of our donors that we are able to impact and encourage the youth of today. KRS Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a 501c3
non-profit organization and your contributions are tax deductible for IRS purposes.
